Philharmonic in Szczecin

In September 2014, the new building of the Philharmonic was opened. M. Karłowicz in Szczecin. The Philharmonic building in Szczecin, as the only one in Poland, was included on the list of the 200 most significant works of contemporary architecture.
The interior of the building is over 12,000 square meters of space, spread over four floors, which includes, among others: a symphony hall, a chamber hall, rehearsal rooms, a music store, a cafe, a spacious foyer and dressing rooms for artists, an instrument warehouse and offices.
The building was created as a result of a competition for the construction of a new philharmonic hall, according to a design developed by the Barozzi/Veiga studio from Barcelona.
The building was built on the site of the Art Nouveau Konzerthaus building, destroyed at the end of World War II.
The construction of the facility took three years, and on September 5, 2014, the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. Mieczysław Karłowicz under the baton of Ewa Strusińska and Jacek Kaspszyk performed her first symphony In principio by Marek Jasiński in the newly opened Philharmonic.
The Philharmonic building is open to visitors all year round.
